⚠️ WARNING – Discovery Caravan & Outdoor (Camp Life) ⚠️

I need to share this because no other parent should go through what my family did.

We handed our 1983 Sprite caravan to Discovery Caravan & Outdoor – Camp Life for a full electrical redo, new lights, a fridge, aircon, and flooring.

❌ First collection: the lights didn't work, the finishes were a mess, and the electrics tripped the mains of my house the moment I plugged in.

❌ I took it back. They said they fixed everything. We drove to the Kruger National Park for a family trip.

❌ At the campsite, my 5-year-old son received a severe electric shock from the caravan. There was an earth fault causing live current to run through the body of the caravan. He was visibly hurt and distressed. This has undone years of therapy and he now refuses to ever go camping again.

I had to bypass all the electrics myself just to get through the week safely.

❌ When I got home, they promised a manager would come to my house on Saturday at 10am to fix everything. At 09:45 – fifteen minutes before – they called to say he was "too busy" and I must bring the caravan to them.

❌ I submitted a formal written complaint to their full management team. They did not respond. Not a single word. No acknowledgement. No apology. No attempt to make it right.

My child was injured. They knew it. They didn't respond. And they still haven't.

I am now proceeding with a formal complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) and the Small Claims Court.

Please think carefully before trusting this company with your caravan – and especially before putting your family inside it afterwards.
