Rental Car Hire ****
On the 30th of December 2024 I was scheduled to pick up a car at Hertz Hatfield. I booked the car on line through Discovercars.com and reference number is: D***. When I arrived at Hertz I was told the first step is to check credit score and if its low I will not be able to hire a car. A credit score check was done I was could not hire the car however I had already paid a prepayment for the car. Discover cars is refusing to refund me. Firstly they requested that I present the card I used for the prepayment and they claim its a debit card therefore cannot refund me. Their T&C state any form of payment is acceptable for a prepayment of the vehicle. When I stated their T&C they now claim that I presented a debit card upon collection of the car which is not true. I was never awarded the opportunity to present any card as after the credit check I was declined to hire the car. Please help I am being ****med of over R3000

However, when picking up the vehicle, the main driver must have a credit card in their name with the security deposit limit; otherwise, the agency may refuse delivery of the vehicle or require additional insurance
It is not possible to leave the security deposit on a card with someone else's name other than the main driver.
The deposit is due because if an accident happens to the vehicle, the provider will withdraw the deposit amount for the repair, and we will reimburse the customer.
