I rented a car and Sardinia a couple of years ago
I rented a car and Sardinia a couple of years ago. Paid for full coverage. Scratched the left rear passenger door. The rep who received the car released me without a charge because of the coverage. 3 months later Europe car tried to charge me a 91 Euro administrative fee claiming I would have to get that back from you all as a refund. Since my credit card had been paid off and closed in the meantime. They demanded a bank draft. I wasn't sure if it was a **** or not so I never paid it. Your company was not very helpful in my time of need.

24 Mar 2026, 17:12Hi Frank,
I’m sorry to hear how stressful and confusing this situation was, especially after you’d paid for Full Coverage and were told at the return desk that everything was fine.
Administrative fees are set and charged by the rental company (in your case, Europcar). DiscoverCars.com is a price comparison and booking platform, not the company that physically checks the car in or issues their internal admin fees. That said, if you purchased our Full Coverage, it’s designed to reimburse eligible costs related to damage (depending on the documents provided and the coverage terms).
We’d like to review what happened and clarify what could have been claimed and whether the fee request was valid. Please email us at ******* with your booking number and link to this review, and we’ll check your case in detail.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
