DiscoverCars has allowed me to rent cars at extremely affordable rates, and I feel lucky to have found them. However, on both occasions, I was unable to pay with any of my widely accepted cards. The first time, only PayPal worked; the second, only Revolut Pay. This left my booking pending, and most recently I lost the car I wanted and had to downgrade. Fortunately, the replacement process went smoothly and I received an immediate refund.

For my latest rental in Cabo, Mexico, I chose the provider with the highest ratings. That turned out to be a wise decision: another provider I had considered told me that bookings through DiscoverCars with insurance included could require a US$5,000 deposit.

Overall, great prices, but research the rental provider and deposit requirements carefully before confirming your booking.
