**************** -selling unsafe poor quality defected products !!! Unacceptable !

<p> </p> <p>I moved to a new state- of -the- art home. I I fitted my home with branded appliances and furniture. I paid R9943, 00 for products for my new home from Discount Decor which included a sleeper couch, a plasma unit, a coffee table and 4 bar stools.</p> <p>While watching Tv on Monday night we heard a big noise that sounded like a big bang and saw that the plasma unit shattered and the glass split into 2 and dropped the tv down and knocked the glass, wood and the dvd player below and landed on the wood level below.</p> <p>I contacted the salesperson Tony early the next morning and informed him what happened and sent pictures. No response. I called him again and he said he reported it to his manager. No response. I emailed the manager Glen still no response. I followed up with an email the following day when he informed that customer services will send a response. Customer service sent a response that they will nothing about this plasma unit. Noone came to examine the unit, for had they done they would have been able to see that it was a defected product that they sold. </p> <p>Is this acceptable that a 1 month old plasma unit shatters and breaks by itself and drops my tv down. Does a plasma unit supposed to last for 1 month ? I've noticed now that my Tv has a line accross the screen. Now this defected palsma unit has damaged my tv. Discount Decor must be held responsible for selling defected unsafe products.</p> <p>According to the National Consumer Commission and the Consumer protection act, consumers have a right to purchase safe quality products. Within six months after the delivery of any goods to a consumer, the consumer may return the goods to the supplier, without penalty and at the supplier’s risk and expense, if the goods fail to satisfy the requirements and standards contemplated in section 55, and the supplier must, at the direction of the consumer, refund to the consumer the price paid by the consumer, for the goods.</p> <p>Discount Decor is accountable and responsible for sellling poor quality defected products.<br /> </p>
