Rogue traders. Beware and do your homework first before committing to DISA Auto Services,

Beware of these guys. Wish I had done my homework first. After approx 15k spent with them they finally diagnosed the fault with my vehicle. I took my vehicle somewhere else to be fixed in the end. The way that they handed this matter was shocking. No refund offered but only a free service if I paid for all the parts. Will be taking this matter further.

We at Disa Auto Services, would like to express our concern about the above complaint.
Firstly, we always strive to deliver the best to our customers under all circumstances.

We would like to shed some light one of the comments, “After 15k spent they finally diagnosed the fault”. On a vehicle, especially a diesel with 315 000 km on the odometer, as the vehicle under discussion do have, it is very difficult to pin point the complete cause of a specific symptom. The first prize would be to replace the complete affected system, given the mileage, but that will be economically unviable.

What we do in cases like this is to start with our most accurate diagnosis, especially when the computer diagnostic test shows no fault.  In this case the injectors were removed and tested by specialists and they confirmed it was faulty. Very important is to mention that the injectors were reported to the customer on the first job card.  The reason for starting with the injectors was to keep the costs to a minimum for the customer as the customer initially informed us that there were not enough funds available to fully repair the vehicle. Keeping that in mind, we did our best to approach the problem as cost effective as possible.

After repairing the injectors and installing them the pressures were back to normal at the injectors and the diesel pump showed a fault as it was now delivering fuel to refurbished injectors. This was reported to the customer on the job card and very clearly explained on how these parts interact/work.

A very important point that the customer seems to have left out is the fact that full go ahead was given by the customer after each finding and steps were explained. The costs involved was given to the customer beforehand.

Disa Auto Services diagnosed the fault correctly the first time as reported on the very first job card, dated 16/02/2018, “suspect injectors faulty”. This was the correct diagnosis in the process of fault finding.  Only after the injectors were done the diesel pump revealed its fault. It is clear, if the diesel pump would have been replaced/repaired first (at first the diesel pump showed no indication of being faulty) the injectors would have to be done anyway.

It stays the same from every angle one look at it.  The bottom line is, we always strive to approach the fault with any vehicle as if it was our own vehicle.

Referring to the above matter we even went as far as to extend a goodwill gesture to guarantee customer satisfaction.  The gesture was that we will do an oil service and the customer only must pay for the parts.  It was not what the customer said… “They offered a free service if I pay for the parts”

It is very unfortunate that the customer still perceives this matter as a fault of the repairer after it has been explained with the utmost communication, detail and respect.
