Extremely disappointing experience with Dis-Chem Life Insurance

My experience with Dis-Chem Life Insurance has been incredibly frustrating and, quite frankly, feels like I have been taken advantage of.

I paid my premiums as required, trusting that I was paying for insurance that would actually provide financial assistance when I needed it. When it came time for the payment to be honored, I was given an Acknowledgement of Debt (AOD) and was led to believe that payment would be made.

However, after waiting and cooperating with the process, I was eventually informed that Dis-Chem Life Insurance would no longer be making the promised payments, without being given a satisfactory explanation for why the decision had suddenly changed.

I have now been waiting for three months without receiving the payment I was expecting.

What is particularly disappointing is the complete lack of accountability and communication. If premiums can be collected consistently from customers, then customers should be able to expect the company to honour its obligations when they need the cover.

At this point, I feel that I have paid premiums for a service that has not delivered when it mattered most. Being given an AOD and then having payments stopped without a clear and reasonable explanation is extremely concerning.

Dis-Chem Life Insurance needs to explain why the payments were stopped, why an AOD was issued in the first place, and what happened to the commitment that was made to me.

I would strongly advise anyone considering this insurance to think very carefully and fully understand the claims and payment process before committing their money.

Three months without payment and without a satisfactory explanation is simply unacceptable.

Dis-Chem Life Insurance, customers deserve answers and accountability—not excuses.
