Unacceptable service for unhappy customer!!!

Hello,

I just want to share the awful experience I had with the DIRTY LAUNDRY UMHLANG lately, the one situated at the back of the parking in the center of Umhlanga Rocks.

Ive been sending a few clothes for repairs to one of their staffs for a while who, last May, didnt respect the measurements we agreed to on a 700 rands dress I bought in Poetry.

After I got home and tried the dress on, I couldnt even put it down my hips it was so tight... I went back to the shop to ask for the same person to re add the piece of material she removed or at least part of it, but she d already threw it away. I then asked for my money back because I will not be able to ever wear this dress again and I VE BEEN TOLD IT S NOT POSSIBLE, I EVEN GOT IGNORED in the shop and when I insisted IVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE STAFF WHO MADE THE MISTAKE WILL PAY FOR THIS DRESS WITH HER SALARY...sure when she only gets a few thousands rands a month as a salary...I was shocked when I heard that!

My husband then decided to go back to the shop and has been told that the owners wife will be helping to fix the dress by adding another material. Not ideal at all but I accepted to give them another chance. I must say that without his wife, the review I write would be much worse!

We were in touch for a while and she fixed the dress except that she made it too small again. The main point here is that all of this happened in a period of more than 4 months during which I was always the one re contacting them to know if the dress was fixed and when I could come to try it on! By beginning of September I had enough of it and went to the shop after Id given them one more week to give me an appointement to show them that the dress was too tight but they just ignored my deadline...

After I told them I had enough and that now I need my money back because Ive been more than patient, Ive been told that ALL THIS STORY WAS MY FAULT because I gave the wrong measurements (sure! I told the lady to make it too tight for me!) and that Im an UNREASONABLE CUSTOMER!! He finally agreed to give me half of the price of the dress and I asked him to add the price of the alteration Ive paid. I know it wasnt enough but I was just tired of their behaviour.

So as a summary I can say that the owner of this shop is very rude, dishonest and have no idea how to deal with an unhappy customer to eventually turn it into a happy customer again!

Ive had plenty of clothes altered since Ive arrived in Durban and only had problems with this particular shop! If they dont know how to alter a particular material or are not sure, they must just be honest and say it instead of pretending that they can do it when they dont!

Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place even to my worse enemy!!
