Unsolicited spam bombardment by Direct Axis

I started to receive unsolicited spam from this micro lender months ago and since then tried to stop it but to no avail. I sent numerous e-mails to their customer services address requesting them to stop spamming me (to ********** but got no reply. In the end I phoned Wendy at ********** who undertook to remove my email details from their mailing list. This apparently never happened because I am still being bombarded by their spam email.

I have also reported this ******* behaviour to the National Credit Regulator (NCR), the Office of the Ombud for Financial Services Providers (FAIS Ombud) and the Wireless Application Service Providers’ Association (WASPA) governing spam in South Africa., and I am awaiting their feedback too.

Directaxis now allege that it had last sent me 'promotions' in 2012. This a blatant lie as I have just this morning again received another one of their unsolicited spam messages by email. I have now also reported them for legal contraventions of the Consumer Act and the Electronic Communications Act/POPI to the Direct Marketing Association of SA.

DirectAxis is now spiteful and bombard me with twice as many spam emails as in the past. It is a cynical, bullying strategy that will unfortunately not succeed. The Office of the Financial Services Ombud is now also on the case while I am awaiting the response of the Financial Services Board and the Direct Marketing Association too.

I do not accept this. The information contained in the emails is your information. Why would ********** use your details. Why further do all my emails to your customer services address bounce back to me? The only explanation is that you are blocking my incoming email. Why is there also an increase in your spamming emails since I started complaining about it. The alleged ********** would not be aware of this. This is just deliberate ************. These are clearly front organisations and other tricks of the trade that you use to get around spamming regulations and to harass complainants. Please stop spamming me with immediate effect. I am proceeding with my complaints against you at the FSB and the Direct Marketing Association. Please explain your actions to them.

DirectAxis just ignores my reply to them above on 5 March and have so far not even tried to respond to the points that I have raised there. It again reinforces their arrogance and disinterest in the plight that they have created for the public who are not even their customers. They allege they cannot clamp down on whomever third party might be abusing their system, which is obviously not true given the sophisticated technologies to do this. It just again illustrates their unwillingness to protect the innocent public from the negative fallout of their profit making and that they either actively continue the exploitation of the direct marketing system, or tolerating it for their own ends.

DirectAxis has now overplayed their hand by sending me in quick succession two unsolicited spam emails directly from their customer service email address. Now they do not have any grounds to claim that third parties are doing this, as they have done in the past. The Direct Marketing Association is now fortunately looking into this deliberate flaunting of their code of conduct and prevailing legislation. Hello, thanks for the feedback. Please note that the marketing material is not from us but from a syndicate. We've passed the details onto our ***** Team. The syndicate pretends to be us and other brands within the financial services industry are regularly targeted as well. We recommend that you open a case of ***** with SAPS. Team DirectAxis
