UDU LOANS PROCESSES UNAUTHORISED/******** DEBITS AGAINST MY ACCOUNT (TANTAMOUNT TO *****)

To say that I was disgusted by the atrocious service received from Udu Loans would be a gross underestimation. This type of service actually requires 0 stars.

I took out a short-term loan with Udu (I believe this is a division of Direct Axis), last year in June. Shortly after I settled the loan in at the end of August.

However, that didn't mean that my installments ceased to be debited from my account, even though I received a letter from Udu confirming the account was settled.

At the time I dealt with a competent young woman, Jefestine Lewis, that assisted with my refund for my August, September and October 2018 installments that were charged after the account was settled. She promptly assisted with arranging a full refund.

Then again in November, I was debited the amount of R 505.26. This time I called through and spoke to Kedibone Jennifer Khobane, who I have since identified, works for Transaction Capitol Recoveries, who confirmed the debit had gone off and also confirmed that the account was settled in August. She then said she would get back to me. Fast forward to March 2016 and I was still waiting for her to get back to me.

I then realised that I needed to contact the company again which I did and as it was my luck, I ended up with the *********** Kedibone again. This time she requested proof that the debit did in fact go off and a copy of my ID stating if she didnt respond in 72 hours I will have the refund in my bank account. On the 14 March I contact her for a response. She has no news. I follow up daily since the 06 March and still she is waiting for her accounts department.

I contact her on the 18 March and by now I am extremely frustrated and request a number for her management. She gives me the number 011 560 6681, which I call, 3 times and there is no response. I call her back and get the same pathetic, waiting on accounts department. What happened to the 72 hours turnaround time. She now tells me that the accounts department could not read my proof of debit. Why has she waited since the 06 March to tell me this? Especially considering that I followed up with her daily.

I consider the unauthorised debit against my account to be ******** and ********** behaviour. This is extremely poor conduct by a FSP. I had been tolerant with the prior refund because the service received was professional and prompt.

All I am asking is that the FSP refund me what is lawfully mine. Is that so difficult or should I be escalating this conduct to the FSCA for a resolution?
