The most useless and thieving Banking group in South Africa

I had a personal loan with DirectAxis, which is a division of Wesbank which in turn is in turn a division of FNB (First National Bank). But the amazing thing is that nobody at any of these three divisions knows what the hell is going on at any of the others.

I requested as settlement letter for the loan, on the 13th of January 2017, I received the settlement letter for the settlement of the loan reflecting the amount that I had to pay in order to settle this loan. On this letter I was just given one day for which the amount reflected on the letter was valid, which was until the 14th of January 2017. So I promptly took the letter, which was signed by a 'Direct Plus Loans Manager' by the name of M. Fehrsen from Direct Axis, to my bank (ABSA Queensburgh) on the 13th of January 2017, and requested that a EFT be done in respect of the settlement of this personal loan. The consultant at my Bank used the details provided on the letter for the payment via EFT. It was found that the FNB account no. and Branch code was not accepted by the ABSA bank account system. ( these details being: Bank: First National Bank; Account No.***0 & Branch code: 255 005). So the EFT was done directly to DirectAxis which is the personal loans division of Wesbank, for this my personal loan Account number (DSL 01139H) was used which is also the reference number used for this payment, these account details were accepted and the EFT went through and the settlement amount was deducted from my account in favour of my DirectAxis loan Acccount.

The settlement letter also requested that the deposit slip be emailed to DirectAxis on email: ********** which we also did on the 13th of January 2017. We also requested a 'proof of closure' letter with this proof of payment that was sent to them.

On the 27th of January 2017, DirextAxis debited my bank account for an installment on this loan which was supposed to be closed on the 13th of January 2017, we went and had this debit order reversed, because the loan was closed. But upon enquiring what was going on, I was informed that DirectAxis did not receive my payment. When I enquired at my bank they said that they can see that the payment had gone through, so they, on my behalf, enquired from Direct Axis what the problem was with regards to the payment. DirectAxis rep**** that the payment does not reflect on their system.

So we were sent from pillar to post by some of the rudest and most unfriendly consultants from DirectAxis and Wesbank, all of them denying that they received any payment from myself. I eventually spoke to a consultant at DirectAxis by the name of Andrea who told me that I would receive a closure letter within 24 hours - this never happened. I again went to my Bank (ABSA Bank Queensburgh), where the Bank manager tried to directly assist me by phoning various people within the FNB, Wesbank, DirectAxis group, he was eventually told that we would get a reply by 9am this morning (2 February 2017) which also turned out to be an empty promise.

We went back to my bank to enquire what we can do next, I was told to go the FNB Branch in Malvern Queensburgh, which we did. There I spoke to a consultant by the name of Nicky who told us that there was nothing that they could do, because they did not have contact details for DirectAxis or Wesbank even though they are divisions of FNB. She went as far as phoning the consultant at my bank and telling him that she could not help us. So we returned to my bank to try and recover the money through the ABSA recovery and investigation department. Whilst at my bank we tried again to phone Wesbank and DirectAxis on the numbers that they had provided on the settlement letter, which was signed by M. Fehrson. When we phoned the Wesbank number, the phone was answered by the same Andrea who had made the 24 hour promise earlier when we phoned the DirectAxis number provided for queries ( ********** 691) on the settlement letter signed by M.Fehrson. She was very abrupt when the question was put to her about her answering Wesbank telephone number when she previously answered the DirectAxis call-centre number, she put me on hold, I then spoke to a male consultant, who did also not want to speak to me, he put me through to another female consultant who was rude and abrupt with me, telling me that it was basically my problem and that she could not assist me any further, this call was witnessed by my husband, my daughter and the consultant fro ABSA bank, who were all purplexed by the total unwillingness by DirectAxis/Wesbank's consultants to even try and assist me.

If the proof returns from the investigators at ABSA that my money is in one of these three's(DirectAxis/Wesbank/FNB) accounts, I will strongly consider laying charges of ***** and Theft against these three.

This whole episode has cost me numerous telephone calls and speaking to rude consultants, travelling around, sending emails and work time lost whilst having to attend to this pathetic state of affairs. I need someone from one of these three FNB affiliated institutions with some authority to assit me to deal with this issue.

I really hope that you are sincere in your response, because my recent experience with DirectAxis leaves much to be desired. It almost seems as if you get treated like royalty if you apply for a loan, but don't dare to try and settle a loan early, because if you do you will be treated like the **** of the earth. This is the image that your consultants displayed toward me, whilst I was in the presence of my family a bank consultant from my bank and the bank manager othe local branch of my bank. the general view was that your and Wesbank consultants, (because the same Andrea answered my call to both the DirectAxis and Wesbank call center - it clearly seems as if you share a call center), really need to receive serious training in customer relations. My banks system reflects that the money has clearly been paid over into one of groups accounts with the reference number being my DirectAxis loan account number, but no one there is prepared to lift a finger to look for it (because it is not a loan application but a '**** of the earth' trying to pay their loan off - and obiously no commision involved for any of them).
So I am very apprehensive to your response, even though it sounds positive, I can only go on my previous experience with DirectAxis and associates over the last 20 days, which is extremely negative.
So in anticipation, I am waiting for your promised response.
