No payment relief for COVID-19 by DirectAxis, instead make a further loan

Good day, on the 6th of April 2020 I made an application for the 3 (three) month payment relief with regard to the COVID-19 that was indroduced on the FNB app. On 9 April 2020, received a message that my application is been evaluated, on 15 April 2020, I received an email from ***, wherein they acknowledged my documents and required me to send it again to the above email address, which I did on the same day. Was delivered successfully and then noted, my email was deleted without been read, I forwarded the email once again on the same day, was once again deleted without been read, send it for the third time. I attached proof of an letter from my employer stating that no salaries will be paid in April 2020. On the same day, 15 April 2020 my application was accepted via the FNB App.

To my surprise my account was debited for both my loan accounts, which I reversed.

Durung the week I was contacted by an consultant from DirectAxis, explained that the above and I was informed that someone will phone me. Someone did phone, but could not hear the person and asked them to phone me on my landlines at home, no one phoned.

This morning I was contacted by Chanell from DirectAxis who offered me a further loan, for the 3 (three) months, which I will only pay in the fourth month, I explained to her that I can't not afford to take a further loan, I made application for the 3 (three) months payment relief, she rep**** that she will then have to cancel my application. I informed her that she do that, that I would report it to the Ombudsman of Banking and Hello Peter. After the call my husband who is an Magistrate told me that the National Credit Regulator already don't want people to make debt and that I can report the above to them and to the Ombudsman for Banking services, which I will attend to now, will post the above on DirectAxis complaints department's, Ombudsman for Banking services, e-mails and contact the NCR Department tomorrow 11 April 2020. Once my loans are paid up, I will never ever do banking businesses with DirectAxis, they are not there to assist the community in this time of the COVID-19.

Hello Michelle,  We have received your review.  Apologies, this isn't the experience we aim to provide. We are doing our utmost to keep the speed of our service as close to perfect. But with the current high application volumes for our Cashflow Relief, this is not always possible.  Please rest assured that we care about our customers and our primary focus during this time is to act responsibly towards them.  The cashflow relief initiative is less expensive than the traditional payment break with a term extension, where a customer could potentially be paying ‘interest upon interest’. This is the best option in the long-term, because the total cost of credit for a payment holiday with a term extension is significantly higher than a cashflow relief plan.  We'll escalate the matter to our COVID-19 support team and arrange for a consultant to call you.  Team DirectAxis
