It's easy to apply for a DirectAxis personal loan. Really?

I needed R13 000 in a hurry as the clutch on my wife's car went unexpectedly - this happens - so I approached DirectAxis in Friday 10/02.

On the that same day I met all their pre-approval criteria and emailed scanned copies of my ID Document, Proof of Address and three months payslips - I was assured the money would be paid into my account within 48 hours - so I was thinking Tuesday the following week - no problem with that.

Each day I received an sms stating that I should email my documents as they were still outstanding - when I called DirectAxis they assured me they had the documents and the loan application was in progress.

Thursday the followng week (still receiving the SMSs each day) I was contacted and advised that the name om my payslip did not match that on my ID - my middle initial (on my payslip) was incorrect - I hadn't actaully noticed this before - they did concede that the ID No. was the same but nonetheless could not proceed with the application - could I send three months bank statements instead?

Ridiculous but okay... I proceeded to send three months bank statements - November - January. I phoned DirectAxis immediately and advised them I had done so. The operator inspected the statements whilst I was on the phone - The January statement (for the period 18 December - 19 January) does not show my January salary (which is paid in on the 25th) and so cannot be used - the statement would need to show the January salary deposit - which will only happen when I receive the February statement)

Livid I asked to speak to a supevisor - things began to change - the loan was deposited into my account the following moring.

All in all a very frustrating experience - it could've been handled so much better.

Stuart Lang

**********
