Insurance Policy cancelled without client consent or informing the client
On the 18th December 2018 I contacted IUA Business Solutions which is the insurance company FNB uses for their Cash Power/Direct Axis loans. I wanted to claim for the loss of income benefit as I have lost my job. The policy wording confirms that I am indeed covered for the unemployment benefit. I was informed by IUA Business Solutions that my insurance had been cancelled by Direct Axis on my behalf without my consent or informing me of such action. I contacted Direct Axis to identify what the problem is; the employee informed me that the policy was cancelled in 2017 already by Direct Axis. The agent told me that they will investigate the matter and get back to me – I am still waiting for feedback to date. My account has now been handed over to attorneys for collection, a summons has been issued in court and I am required to pay the full amount outstanding. They also threatened to serve the summons at my previous place of employment. I have been working in the banking and insurance industry on an international level (Allianz Insurance) for over 25 years. This is a pure act of ***** as you cannot cancel an insurance policy on behalf of the client without their consent or informing them of such action.
