Erroneous Debit on a Closed Loan Account
I have recently taken out a Direct Axis loan which was settled on the 26th August 2024 however, a debit order has been deducted from my account this morning (28th) for a loan that had been settled. This morning I called in and I was told that this amount was made provision for within the quote however, this is incorrect as the entire balance was tal**** within the loan amount as it is carefully laid out that your previous loan will be settled and you will be paid out the remaining balance. I understand like the agent said that they were unable to cancel the debit as it requires 5 working days however I am not in agreement with the amount not being considered for reversal. I have reviewed my statement history on the FNB App and it advises that the loan was settled and is listed with reference made as DA Top Up Closure on the 26th August 2024. Why was the amount still deducted on the 28th when the entire balance was settled. Was the account still left open in an attempt to deduct over R4400 from me. By right this amount should be refunded! The icing on the cake was that I was asked if I can please confirm telephonically that I would not reverse the debit order and I asked why is this being asked as I had not at any point brought this up. Please feel free to listen to the call recording. Clearly clients previously had this same issue before and had failed to be assisted and sadly they would of then resorted to contacting their banks. This is dishonest on every level from Direct Axis and their agents. I would like this amount to be refunded back to me as I will be making a point to report this matter to the Ombudsman along with sharing my entire experience all over social media along with the screenshots confirming my settlement. Please address this matter immediately. Is this why no quotes are emailed to us anymore so when you apply online you are able to pull the wool over unsuspecting clients eyes. To anyone reading this review please be smart and screenshot your quote details as I have. I want my refund!
