DirectAxis Pathetic Service and False Credit Reporting

In 2017 I took an R150k personal loan from Direct Axis to buy a property. The installment amount was R9135.48 per month. After I paid off more than two-thirds of the loan, I became unemployed and started missing payments at the end of 2018. I renegotiated payment terms with Direct Axis, which I kept. The agreed monthly installment was R2000. With Direct Axis you deal with call centers, and this agreement was confirmed via SMS from Direct Axis. "Payment Reminder: We have recorded a promise to pay your Direct Axis account on 31 Jan 2019 for R2000. Please pay as agreed. ***". Surprisingly I discovered in Aug 2020 that DirectAxis kept on blacklisting me every month. I tried to resolve this issue with them, without success. I then decided to fully settle the balance. I requested a settlement amount on 27 Oct 2020 and fully settled the amount on the same day. After numerous requests for a paid-up letter, I received written confirmation from DirectAxis on 27 November 2020 that my loan account was settled in full. Then I started receiving monthly invoices from DirectAxis, the latest dated 15 May 2021, stating that I owe them another R1499,70. Numerous attempts to resolve this issue with DirectAxis failed. I do not owe DirectAxis anything. Direct Axis keeps on reporting my non-payments of this invoice to all the Credit Bureaus. This impacts my Credit Score. It is purely ******** to try and ****** more money from me, with my Credit Record as ransom. At this stage, I think the only way forward is a costly civil suit to claim damages for defamation and to force DirectAxis to reverse all the false credit reporting.

Good Afternoon DirectAxis,

Kindly note that my experience with you proofed that "as soon as" is an open-ended commitment from your side which is not good enough. Is it going to be another year, a month, a week, or 48hours?

Please provide a better commitment.

Regards,

Stephan

DirectAxis did come back to me today with a letter that states: "Thank you for your inquiry regarding the status of the above-mentioned account. This letter serves to confirm that your account with DirectAxis has been settled in full and closed on the 2021/06/15."

Please note that my account was settled in full with DirectAxis on 27 Oct 2020, not only on 15 June'21 as stated. DirectAxis made mistakes with continuous false credit reporting and does not admit that they were at fault. DirectAxis should rewrite their letter to me, state the correct facts and advise all the Credit Bureaus accordingly & immediately to clear my credit rating (as requested before).

At this stage, I still think the only way forward is a costly civil suit to claim damages for defamation, as well as to interdict DirectAxis to reverse all the false credit reporting.
