Direct Axis/VVM have no control over their financials! Be careful!

I have been getting calls from a collection company on behalf of Direct Axis called VVM for years now to settle a loan which I was unable to do since I was unemployed, now that I am in a position to settle the account I cannot get a settlement amount. When I call Direct Axis they say that I need to call VVM and when I call VVM they say that they need to consult with their client Direct Axis but nothing happens and this keeps going on and on. This is happening from February.
