Direct Axis - terrible!

Due to unfortunate circumstances my account was handed-over for collections in 2017. I restarted my payments in late 2017 with their agent. I continued my payments up until Jan 2020. I even started paying a little bit more than usual during 2018 up until 2020.

I regularly checked my my credit record as well via their Pulse app during the time. The pulse app showed my account was up-to-date and I was making regular payments every month - great!

My account was closed in Jan 2020. Following this I rechecked my credit record - to my surprise it showed I only paid my account in Jan 2020 - meaning my account was NEVER paid since 2017 and I paid up my account on Jan 2020 only. This is not true! I paid towards my account every month from late 2017/ beginning 2018!

I requested them to up date my credit record with them indicating such, I called the collections agent and they mentioned that I should take this up with DA. They also sent me a statement indicating I paid every month.

I called them - they indicated my account was defaulted - this is not true! I asked them for evidence of this - none provided. They sent me a statement - I checked that I was paying n a monthly basis via their agent! They also said that my account was only settled/ paid in Jan - not true as I had a payment arrangement. When I mentioned to them I had another account at the time at a different bank which was also handed over to collections and they regularly send update to credit bureau indicating I have paid towards the account every month They also said that this bank must have a special arrangement. What nonsense!

All I am requesting is for them to submit to the credit bureau that I did have a payment arrangement from 2018 and I paid an amount towards my account.

I also don't understand why their pulse app showed my account was up-to-date while I was paying but after the fact it shows I did not and only paid Jan 2020!

Sooo confusing. My advice - rather go to a reputable credit provider or bank for loan! I will have to dispute this with credit bureau now.

I will see what happens otherwise I am off to the ombudsman..

It is indeed sad that it has to come to this, me having to post on Hello Peter to get a response. Direct Axis is still of the opinion that it reflects correctly on my report. Ridiculous. Now I have to waste time explaining to them their statement showing I paid towards my account and it doesn't match the record sent to the bureau. They are now APPARENTLY looking into this matter.

Just noting for the public reading this, who are considering taking a loan with Direct Axis. I am in the process of logging this with the credit ombudsman, I have spoken to them and they believe I do have a case.

I will update you on the progress as this was NOT resolved by Direct Axis as they are still adamant that my account was in arrears and I only brought my account up-to-date in January 2020. This is so crazy to me since I had a payment arrangement.
