DIRECT AXIS HARRASSMENT

Good Day I was retrenched in July 2019 and contacted DirectAxis to inform them of this as I have a personal loan with them. They asked me to email all my documents to the claims department for assessment, it took quite some time before I got an answer, which was not via email it was telephone calls. I advised them that I do not have any money and could I make arrangements to pay the account. I spoke to a David in September/October to make arrangements - I made arrangements to pay R500.00 every month. I started paying them from end October 2019 the R500.00 until February 2020. I also kept on getting SMS's everyday (sometimes got about 5 sms's in one day) saying my account is in the arrears. From March 2020 haven't paid the account due to no income - still unemployed. I spoke to Latisha on 6/4/2020 and advised her of this and told her I am unable to pay this and with the Lockdown there is no jobs out there either. She said she will make a note of it on the system but can't promise that my account won't be handed over to attorneys. On 09/04/2020 got a SMS advising me if I don't pay R1,302.14 on the 25/04/2020 my account will be handed over, other I can type 2 in the SMS to reply and someone will call me back - still todate 22/04/2020 nobody has called me back. How do they expect a unemployed person to pay the loan when there is no income coming in. I have explained my situation to various other people at DirectAxis (Westbank Cashpower) and they say sorry there is nothing they can do to prevent the account from been handed over. This is really disappointing service and help that I have had over the past couple of months.
