Direct Axis - Bad and suspicious service received

I have been retrenched end of March 2016. I had credit insurance with Direct Axis. I kept paying my account for as long as possible befor contacting Direct Axis in this regard. Direct Axis however said my payments could be waived only for six months. Another instance where I also owed money, settled my account, using the credit insurance.

Then in November Direct Axis start calling me, telling me I owed them the payment of R655.99. According to me I had another month left. I never received a statement from Direct Axis and had to ask for a statement.

I sent them a email, asking for their banking details as I did not want to use a debit order anymore. I am an estate agent now and will pay when it is convenient, sometimes more, sometimes less. They did not respond on my email.

They kept on calling me, but when I answered the phone, they ended the call.

Today I googled their number and phoned to get hold of their banking details.

Then I was told that I owe them more than R2000. That is not possible, as the monthly payment is R655.99.

If the outstanding amount on 1 Nov was R655.99, how can it be more than R2000, after two months?

Then I phoned them again to request a statement. Why do I even have to request a statement? A good service provider will provide you with a statement on a monthly basis ! But the guy who answered, took my ID number after I asked for a statement, and then put me on holf for more than 10 minutes, until I ended the call.

I am still waiting for my statement.

This is what I call bad service, and I think dishonest - as they do not provide me with tatements, I am not in a position to check out the statement to figure out what was going on, on my account. How can I blindly make payments in such a situation?
