Debiting accounts before the time

DirectAxis debited my account on the 16th even though my salary has not gone into my account. When I called the call centre, spoke to Sandiliswe who was rude and told me to call another number. How can they be debiting accounts when I have not even been paid? I can understand that the contract states early in December but who gets paid by the 16th?
