Debit Order Query
Good Day,
On the account statement I received dated 16 March 2024, the balance brought forward was R3833.44, which in my mind is the outstanding balance on my loan. On top of that I had an advance payment on the loan, of R495.81, which means if you deduct that, then the balance should have been R3337.63. That advance amount has been on the account for over a year, but for some reason it has never absorbed into the outstanding balance, nobody has ever explained why. Even with these facts, DirectAxis debited the usual R5015.19 from my account on the 28th of March, even though I owed less than this on the loan.
On the statement it says the amount due is R4,519.38, I'm not sure how, but let's say for argument sake that it's the R3833.44, plus interest, fees levied and the protection plan. That still doesn't make sense because if you deduct the advance amount from the R4519.38, then I should have only been debited R4023.57 on the 28th of March, and NOT R5015.19.
It's ********* to benefit from monies not due to you, I expect this to receive the urgent attention it deserves. I work too hard for my money, and I won't be ****** in broad daylight. I sent them an email on the 28th of March, they responded the same day to ask me to confirm that I won't reverse the debit order. I confirmed that I won't, but I still want this resolved, I want what's due to me. My email was then forwarded to Collections, with me in CC. I haven't heard a word from DirectAxis since then. I want my money, I was overcharged, and based on reviews read online, this has happened to other customers before me.
Kind Regards,
Ntando Siyo
She said maybe it was paid into the wrong account, which was strange to me because you've been debiting my account for 5 years, so you obviously have my banking details. She read out the account number you paid to last week, and I confirmed it is not my account number, I don't know where you got it from, it boggles my mind. In any case, I provided the correct details and she promised to escalate, let's hope she does.
What a joke!
