So let me start by warning anyone thinking of using them to RUN the other way. So after many issues with them I finally was able to settle my loan in advance, I was quoted a settlement amount of R26000odd. I managed to settle R25000 of the R26000. I requested another settlement amount the following month for the balance which was R1300. My monthly installment was R1832.00 over the contract period. So here is where it gets a bit ethically wonky. Instead of Directaxis debiting me for the R1300 needed to fully settle my loan, they carried on with a debit order of the normal R1832.00... And not only was this going to be a once off, they were going to keep deducting this amount until I paid the full contract amount, including the interest they would earn in the next 2 years, up to the day when the contract would come to an end, nevermind the R25000 that I paid in advance. Now if this isn't the definition of thievery I don't know what is. I will be laying a complaint with the financial services board today.
