Beware of DirectAxis *****.
My husband has a loan with DirectAxis which is almost paid off. During lockdown they phoned him and asked if he would like a payment holiday for three months. Because he was on a vastly reduced salary at the time he accepted THEIR offer. Last week my husband discovered that he has a loan with FNB that we know nothing about. He contacted FNB to be told that the loan had been taken out on his behalf by DirectAxis to cover his payment holiday with them. My husband DID NOT give authorisation for Direct Axis to take this loan on his behalf and had he been advised that they would take out a 5 year loan for R6000 to cover a 3 month period on an account that is almost paid up he would have declined the payment holiday. He spent the entire day last Friday trying to contact DirectAxis to enquire about this. It is impossible to get thru to anybody who is either competent or willing to assist. He eventually managed to get thru to somebody at DirectAxis via FNB who promised to look into the situation and call him back. She claims that all calls are recorded and she will have to get the recording of him agreeing to having the FNB loan taken out on his behalf. There will be no such recording as he did not agree to this and we assume that this is the reason DirectAxis hasn't been in contact. Tomorrow we will lay charges of ***** against DirectAxis. If you have a DirectAxis loan and were offered a Covid payment holiday please check your ITC report as you will most certainly have an FNB loan that you probably don't know you have.
