Approved consolidation loan that is then invalidated

Good day. I was approved for a debt consolidation loan yesterday after e lengthy affordability credit vetting process. I received sms's congratulating me and a pre agreement emailed to me. Imemdiatkey after that I receievd a call from the contract department to finalise everything. The call proceeded to me accepting the installment quote but was dropped by the consultant.

Today I call back and get told the quote was invalid. I would really like an explanation on what transpired in a matter of a day. The consultant explained that it is still approved but not valid. The end result, is that it's declined as it cannot move ahead.

I was sold on seeing if I qualify for a small personal loan, that was rejected. Now I have two unnecessary hard credit checks.

Can my application be reviewed or a proper answer be given on what happened. Was there provisional approval first and then what?

It really is waste of consumer time to be approved and then be invalidated for whatever reason.
