Mrs E Du Toit

Good morning

Bonitas medical aid are contract in with Pharmacy Direct for chronic medication. If you do not get your chronic medication from preferred provider co-payment applicable.

My mother is on my medical aid and on chronic medication for HPT, Depression and on wafarin due to previous massive Pulmonary emboli.

Today is Day 8 that she is without medication.

Initially I received call from pharmacy direct whereby her some chronic medication not available and that they will have to use alterative medication - which I had no problem as they consist of same ingredients. But was told I will have to pay in and refuse as her medication approved by Bonitas as chronic and that it is not the member fault they don't have her medication as prescribed. The pharmacist inform she agreed and will sort out with medical aid. That was the last call I received.

Claims put through Bonitas on the 19th and 22nd November

I phoned yesterday very angry and inform how poor service I received - and will pharmacy direct take any liability if anything should happen to my mother due to her not taking her medication daily. Informed me that they will delivery yesterday afternoon.

This morning still nothing received when I called pharmacy direct YET AGAIN was informed once medication dispatch will take 24-48hrs for delivery.

EVERY MONTH I have problems with PHARMACY DIRECT.

IF I HAD A CHOICE I WILL NOT MAKE USE OF PHARMACY DIRECT.

I requested Top Management email and contact nr to lodge complaint and was informed not allowed to give to me.

PUBLIC BE AWARE - DON'T EXPECT GOOD SERVICE AS YOU WILL NOT GET AND DON'T MATTER ABOUT PEOPLE HEALTH. WHY SHOULD WE CONTACT THEM FOR OUR MEDICATION

I know they will come up with excuse they sent out SMS - if you as Pharmacist do not get response is it not your responsibility to phone the patient or main member.
