If you receive a telephonic sales call from My Debt Hero (officially registered as Direct Debt Solutions Pty Ltd), HANG UP IMMEDIATELY. I am writing this detailed review to expose their exact deceptive tactics and to warn other South African consumers before your bank accounts are completely frozen, exactly as mine have been. HOW THEIR TRAP WORKS: On 19 March 2026, I received a 31-minute telephonic sales call from a My Debt Hero agent. I was asked to provide my bank details and a digital initial (not a full signature) strictly and solely for the purpose of a credit score check. While still on the line, the agent aggressively tried to force a "veri check" debit order authorisation to my Absa banking app. I recognised the trap, explicitly refused to authorise it, and verbally instructed them that NO action was to be taken. I did NOT sign a statutory Form 16 Debt Review Application or a Form 17. THE *****ULENT "SWITCH": Because I successfully blocked the initial agent, my details were ********ly passed down the line to another agent, Cheslin Fortuin, who forced my file through anyway. He emailed me claiming my "application has been forwarded to creditors." When I immediately filed an urgent dispute to stop this, a support agent named Cersha Daniels maliciously used the fact that the National Credit Regulator's Debt Help System (DHS) is currently offline to claim my file was "in processing" and closed my urgent dispute ticket as "Resolved." THE DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES: Because they ********ly transplanted my digital initial intended for a credit check onto a debt review application, they triggered a system-wide financial block. As a direct result, all my bank accounts at Absa and Discovery have been completely frozen. When I contacted my banks, they explicitly confirmed that they had NOT received any signed Form 16 or Form 17 from My Debt Hero. This company froze my financial livelihood without possessing the basic statutory mandate required by law. They even sent me automated SMS demands for my payslips and FICA documents after they had already ********ly notified creditors. THE LEGAL REALITY (ADVICE TO OTHER CONSUMERS): If this has happened to you, know your rights: It is ******* Forgery: What they are doing is a direct violation of Section 2(3)(b)(ii) of the National Credit Act (NCA), which prohibits using an electronic signature or initial for any purpose other than what the consumer intended. The NCR is Aware: This exact deceptive practice is explicitly condemned by the Regulator in NCR Circular 03 of 2024. Hold the Directors Liable: I am holding the registered directors, Jacobus Adriaan Van Der Walt (NCRDC3427) and Wayne Vincent Waldeck (NCRDC4071), personally liable under Section 22(1) and Section 218(2) of the Companies Act, and under Section 99 of POPIA for the ******** processing of my personal data. TO MY DEBT HERO MANAGEMENT & DIRECTORS: Do not bother replying to this review with your standard automated "Customer Care" apology. I have successfully utilised lawful investigative channels (SearchWorks) to trace the verified residential addresses, personal ID numbers, and direct cellular numbers of your directors, Jacobus Adriaan Van Der Walt and Wayne Vincent Waldeck . This intelligence has already been handed over to the Vanderbijlpark SAPS Commercial Crimes unit for my active ***** docket, and to the Sheriff of the Court who has been instructed to serve my final Letter of Demand directly to your personal residences. You have 24 hours to manually cancel my file and issue a clearance letter to my banks so my accounts can be unfrozen, or the National Consumer Tribunal and SAPS will proceed. TO OTHER AFFECTED CONSUMERS: Check your credit reports immediately. If your accounts were frozen without your signature on a physical Form 16, do not let them bully you. Report them to the NCR (***) and open a ******** ***** case with SAPS immediately
