Utterly disgusted with the service I received in your Canal Walk branch

This morning I received your Blue Monday email. I saw a special on your WD Hard Drive. I went online and saw that there were no more available. I then called your Canal Walk Branch. I eventually (after holding for 5 minutes and being passed to 3 different people) speak to a sale person by the name of Robyn. I explain and ask if they have this particular hard drive in stock. She says they do. I ask her if it's the same price instore as online, she confirms that it is, at R1299. I ask her to hold one for me, give her my name and telephone number and tell her I will come through at 2pm this afternoon.

I leave work, drive 25 minutes to Canal Walk, and arrive at the store and ask for Robyn, she comes, I explain who I am, she takes me to the shelf and gives me a WD My Passport Ultra. I say that it doesn't look the same as the advertised and ask if it's Mac compatible. She says it is. I ask her if, at the till, it will ring up at the special price (R1299) and she says she will come with me to ensure that it does.

We get to the till and it rings up at R1599, she says she will call the manager. Paul, the manager comes out after the lady behind the till phones him, about 5-10 minutes later. He comes out and rudely asks me what's going on. I explain, he goes on his system and tells me this isn't the same product and that he doesn't have stock of the product on special.

I calmly explain that I called this morning and that Robyn had said that all would be in order when I come through and collect. He continues his rudeness and says, there is nothing he can do. I tell him I am unhappy with his level of service and explain that I have purchased many products from his store as well as online, including my iMac and my MacBook Pro and he asks if I want to purchase the Hard drive at R1500 (a whole R99 off). I tell him I am not happy with that as a solution.

He is utterly disinterested. I explain that I called his store specifically to avoid this issue and wasting everyone's time, and that Robyn should be more informed as to the specials on any particular day. She makes up some story about me telling her on the phone that I wanted to ensure that is Mac compatible, which is not only a blatant LIE but also doesn't make any sense.

The manager Paul was rude and unhelpful at best. Takealot has the exact, more expensive product for R30 cheaper than the price you are selling it for, and it gets delivered to your door. I will not be purchasing anything from Dion Wired in the future, and I think to lose a loyal customer, who has spent over R50000 with you over the years, over R300, is a JOKE!

Reviewer Update

Hi - The offer that was made by Paul the extremely rude manager, was R99 off the price.

I drove 50 minutes to get to the store, and paid R10 for the parking at Canal Walk. Not to mention the fact that I specifically called to ask if the special was the same in store and if they had availability of the product being advertised. the offer of R99 off the price is unacceptable. Which is why I declined.

I do not want a discount, or a voucher, as I said, I will not be purchasing anything from Dion Wired again. The purpose of this complaint to highlight the terrible service received and the issue of lack of training for your sale team.
