Return policy not in line with the CPA

I purchased a Panasonic digital cordless phone set in February 2015 from Dion Wired in Cedar Square. Today the phone would receive calls but we could not dial out. These phones are used in our office, and today I returned them expecting a replacement under Chapter 2, Section 56 of the CPA. This states that I have the right for replacement, repair, or a full refund within 6 months at my discretion. The store manager made it quite clear that these goods would have to be taken in for 'evaluation' and I could expect to wait 21 days as this is their company policy.
My understanding of the CPA is that I have the right to choose what I require and in this case it would be a replacement as these phones are used in the office of my business. The staff informed me i could complain to Head Office, but to call their head office you may as well speak to the wall as I was put on hold for 20 minutes and eventually my call cut off.
After this incident, Dion Wired will not receive my business.
So much for Walmart improving service in the local stores after taking over the group.
Your Slogan \Experience The Future"- With this service the future looks dim. Please notify me of your closing down sale"""

Hello KaylzR,

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint with reference *** and apologize for your inconvenience in this matter.

As discussed with management the item will have to go for an assessment. We need to ensure that it is due to a manufacturing fault where after a decision can be made. The store will keep you updated on this matter.

Regards.
