Personnel **********ly upgrading cellphone accounts

Today I receive a call at 12h48 from an Evy Rowan from Dion Wired in Port Elizabeth ********** . She asked confirmation of merely my name (not name and surname), she requested confirmation of my address for my Iphone upgrade.

I have not done any upgrades, nor do I have an Iphone, I do not live in Port Elizabeth (I live in Johannesburg). I responded that she clearly has the wrong person. I found the phone call odd and blocked the number. Please retrieve the telephone recording.

At 13h56 I receive a sms from Vodacom stating 'Dear (name and surname) your quotation has been processed 1-34066.......... Use the order number 1- ********** 5..... when contacting Vodacom Customare Care on 082111 for further enquiries'.

I phone the Vodacom Customer Care number at 13h58 and logged a complaint that I received a mysterious telephone call and then the message. They confirmed that there was indeed an order logged and I advised that I live in Johannesburg and most certainly did not do an upgrade in Port Elizabeth.

The agent confirmed that the order was cancelled and that she will have to take the matter up with her manager and the sales department to find out which shop the upgrade was done. I advised that I have the number, but she advised that they have the information. She advised that she will phone me back in 10 minutes. Note that I have still not received a call.

I phoned Evy Rowan at Dion Wired ********** asked her who came into their shop to do an upgrade, she stated that it was two woman who seemed suspicious. She apparently did not assist them, when later one of them returned. Whilst processing the upgrade she made the initial call to me where I advised her that I did not do an upgrade for an Iphone and that she has the wrong person. Despite such she proceeded to process the upgrade and provided the woman with the cellphone.

I asked her why she then proceeded with the upgrade when I specifically said that it was not me. She could not answer and merely said that they will have to look at the cctv recording and she will take it up with her manager. Note that she did not take my number.

To be honest Evy Rowan's conduct in itself is suspicious.

Firstly when she apparently did the address confirmation she merely asked: 'Is this (my name) speaking?' She made no effort to confirm my name, my id number etc to make sure that she was speaking to the correct person. Why did she not find it strange that the person standing in front of her did not answer the phone to do the confirmation?

Secondly, why did she proceed with the upgrade when I told her that she must have the wrong person, she also could not confirm and addresss.

Thirdly, I reside in Johannesburg, why would I travel all the way to Port Elizabeth to do an upgrade.

It should also be noted that I attended to request a Transunion credit report and it is clear that Evy also failed to do a credit check of any sort. Which is also questionable????

It will be interesting to see the application documentation and whether she properly checked the possible **** id and FICA documents.

The number on which they did the upgrade was a data sim card which contract is expering soon. How would these women know to apply for an upgrade on this specific number, clearly this is an 'inside job'?????

This needs to be sorted out before close of business. If my credit record or reputation is affected I will hold you liable for same and if necessary proceed with legal action.

I await you call.
