No festive joy at Dion Wired!
Dion Wired advertised Dell Alienware 17 at R27 000 on special till 24 Dec. I phoned Cresta store and Mpho said she had 2: one demo and one in box. I ask her to keep one in box aside as I am coming to buy it. I arrive at store to get laptop and Mpho takes me to the demo! I say, no I want the new one in the box. She says there is no new one , only the demo. Huh?? The demo is dirty, security stickers all over it. My son tries it, he says it is not working properly. I tell Mpho she has wasted our time, she just looks at me. No apology. She can't understand why I won't pay R27 000 for the destroyed demo. I ask for the store manager. We wait 15 min. By the time she arrives I am in a rage. She listens to my sorry tale - no apology for wasting our time. She phones the buyer - another 15 mins. The result: no stock in any store [ why advertise these laptops if there is no stock?] They can get me one in Jan [maybe]. Try explain that to a disappointed teenager. Lacklustre attitude, passive staff with no product knowledge and no idea of how to treat customers - if it were my business I'd fire the lot of them. I predict that 6 months from now, Dion Wired will be history.
