Months to get a proof of Payment

I purchased a 12-inch Apple MacBook Pro at Dion Wired Canal Walk in Cape Town on the 26th September 2017 for R19 999. After a year went by, I noticed the coating on the screen kept peeling off; I then learnt that Apple is running a MacBook Pro Anti-Reflective Coating Repair Program. I went to the iStore in Canal Walk to enquire more about this and they indicated that they only require a proof of payment to proceed with the repair on the Pro.

After noticing that I misplaced the original slip, I approached the store to assist me with it. They indicated that the slip might be archived since the purchase was done more than a year ago, and they would need to log a call for it so that the head office can retrieve it, and subsequently send it to them.

I started communicating with the branch sales manager Burger Cronje from the 26th of November 2018, providing all the details so that s/he may proceed and nothing got no response. I then went to the branch, met with the branch salesman by the name of Alex, who became the middleman between myself and his manager.

Because the purchase was done on my DionWired account, I further went to RCS offices in GoodWood to get a statement, submitted to Alex to forward it to his manager, still nothing was done. I went as far as contacting the head office, logged a complaint against the very sales manager, indicated my frustration and disappointment in this, still nothing happened. Even after countless visits to the branch, nothing happened.

By now I've already built a steady communication with Alex on WhatsApp, and around the 4th of June he sent me a WhatsApp indicating that Burger FINALLY got hold of a tax invoice instead and of a Proof of Purchase, this was further confirmed by Burger himself when he REP**** TO MY MAIL FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE INITIAL COMMUNICATION an hour or so later. S/he asked if it was okay to send through a tax invoice instead, I then confirmed with iStore and responded to Burger on the same day that a tax invoice would be okay. Till today, nothing was sent to me.

In closing, I may have been too patient in dealing with this matter with Dion Wired, somewhat passive to be honest. Prior to this ongoing incident, I have had a good relationship with that store in that it was always my number one store for buying appliances and gadgets. Since this incident I decided to stop buying anything from that store, starting with Apple Products. Looking at the amount I spent on this unit, the service I got in ONLY RETRIEVING THE PROOF OF PAYMENT, taking the Sales Manager 191 days to respond to a mere email, and still NOT providing me with what I need, I recommend that whoever is willing to buy an Apple Product from this store to read this first.
