I would like to start off saying I am, or WAS, a great fan of Dion Wired. Every year, I buy an expensive electronic item to treat myself. For the past 3 years, I have chosen Dion Wired for these items. Here is my experience with them the past 3 years. 2015, I purchased a Samsung sound bar, wanting this for a long time and being able to afford one now, i knew exactly what i wanted and specs i needed. Being a tech kind of guy i knew what technologies were on the market. I went to Dion Wired where a gent assisted me with great eagerness and friendly type salesman talk; this guy could sell ice to an Eskimo i thought. But I had my list of specifications I knew my sound bar had to have. I found one in my price range and ticked all the right boxes. One very important feature of Samsung is the wireless connectivity Samsung to Samsung device. I told the salesman I plan to buy a Samsung LED TV the following year and I wanted my sound bar to connect wirelessly to the TV, great, this sound bar has it. No wires and volume can be controlled by one remote though the TV and sound bar. What an awesome sound from this sound bar I had, wow. A winner. 2016, then came the time to buy my Samsung TV, again, off to Dion wired I go since the great service and product I received the previous year. I reminded the same salesman about my sound bar, and needed my new TV to check all my ‘high tech’ boxes. Could this TV connect wireless to my Samsung device? Yes. And can I add wireless devices. YES. Perfect, I purchased my TV and went home. I installed my TV and went ahead to connect my sound bar to the TV. Searched all the options on the TV but none had the option to connect wirelessly. The option was there on menu, but disabled (greyed out). Went back to Dion wired and the salesman was baffled as to why the TV didn’t have this option. Had a look at the higher end TVs, some had this option, others didn’t. My new TV seems to not have this option. There was another option on the TV that could connect wireless to devices, I tried this. But then the Samsung Sound bar didn’t have this special option (I can’t remember the exact name of it). So here I sit, with 2 remotes in my hand, a wires at the back of my TV and Sound bar.

2017, I am now looking to purchase a dishwasher; again, I wanted a feature on it. This feature was a Vario drawer system on the Bosch dishwashers. But I could not find one that fitted my price range. Black Friday came, and I checked the specials at Dion Wired. They had a Bosch Dishwasher on special within my price range, on the specs it stated “Vario Drawer/Basket system”. Now normally the dishwashers wont have both basket and vario drawer. So I was a but confused with this statement. To make sure, I went to my Dion wired to check if this black Friday dishwasher has the Vario drawer. Unfortunately they didn’t have one on the floor so I could not have a look. I approached the salesman about the Vario drawer system, he wasn’t sure. So he had a look on his computer and went on to assure me this dishwasher had the Vario drawer, even showing it to me on his screen. Great I thought. Midnight the following day was black Friday. I stood in a looong queue but got inside. They still not have this dishwasher on display as the stock hadn’t arrived. Again I enquired about the vario drawer, and again I was assured this dishwasher has this feature. I purchased the dishwasher (R4500), took delivery 1.5 weeks later, and to my surprise, NO VARIO DRAWER! I phoned the store immediately, spoke to the salesman, and he seemed as shocked as me. They had another dishwasher with this feature going to R7999, almost double my price of the original. He told me he will pone me back, they can do a better a price. While waiting for the phone call, I searched for prices on this R7999 dishwasher. Makro had it on special for R6999. Dion wired phoned me back, due to the high cost of the item they are almost at cost, can offer me the R7999 dishwasher for R6499 (6% discount due to their mistake!). I told him of the exact dishwasher in sake at Makro, then all of a sudden he can do the dishwasher at the same price, a few minutes ago, R6499 was the best he can do! I still have my wires and 2 remotes. And I don’t have a vario drawer in my dish washer Not good service and know how at Dion wired.
