Faulty fitbit alta and poor management attitude

I Purchased a Fitbit Alta on 6 July 2016 as a gift for my wife. We opened it on her birthday Saturday 9 July 2016 and proceeded to charge it and only started using it the next day. Halfway through Sunday it had completely discharged. So during the week we attempted different USB charging methods but without success. The fitbit would no longer charge at all and remained dead. So I finally decided to take it back to Dion today. Apparently 1 day too late to get an immediate swop out. After speaking to numerous staff we tested the fitbit and even the staff there realized the fitbit did not want to charge. The sales manager then said they would have to send it in for “testing” to see if it is faulty. This after we just tested it where it obviously didn’t work. Only after it was sent away for “testing” could it be replaced. Through all this time not one person apologized that they sold junk to me. Furthermore it was clear that it was my fault that I did not adhere to the 7 day policy and I would now have to wait until the device was tested. (COME ON 1 day!!!)

This whole process would have gone completely different if Dion Wired was more concerned about customer service than their silly little policies.
