Two years back I bought my son a tablet from Dionwired Cedar Square and even took up their extended warranty, but the tablet only worked for a short while. I then confidently took the device back to the store for repairs seeing that it was still under warranty and also had an extended warranty.

Two months later they call me to say I must return the accessories in order for them to fix the device. I go to the store to explain that I unfortunately don't have those accessories (charger and headphone) anymore, so they take the matter up with the repairer. A month later they call me again to say that they are waiting for the accessories, which to me was astonishing after the fact that I already indicated that I no longer have those accessories. They said they'll escalate the matter to someone senior.

I reluctantly went to the store again after two months since my last encounter with them to enquire about the progress and they said that the repairer cannot fix the device, which to me sounded like good news thinking that I'll get a new device.

They then say that I still need to return the accessories, which I explained for the third time now that I no longer have those. I then suggest that seeing that the matter has been dragging for 6 months now, that they give me a new device and they take their accessories, but they said that its not possible because they no longer have that tablet range in stock and in other branches. I suggested that they give me a different tablet to the same value and keep their accessories, but they were reluctant to do so and promised me that they'll take the matter up with the repairer and that I'll have better results the next time they call me.

Today, which makes it 8 months later since I took the device in, they tell me that they can't give me another tablet until I return the accessories. What bothers me more is that I trusted them when they said I must wait while they're sorting the matter out. I mean how long does one have to wait for a replacement tablet? The deice was bought for cash and insured for damages, but 8 months later I'm still not sorted.

I told the Store Manager that I don't want that device anymore, but I sure am going to tarnish their name on the interwebs.#Dionwired #Dionwiredsucks

Best regards,
We confirm that the following email was sent to you:
Firstly I want to apologise for any inconveniences caused to you.
"I understand that the unit is within the extended warranty period, however a sim slot is not covered under the warranty as the damage would be caused my constantly inserting and removing the slot from the phone.
What we can offer you is to get a quote for you to repair the sim slot?"
Regards.
