Dion Wired - Price Unmatch

It appears as though the price match is a bold empty statement which mainly applies to related companies within the Massmart Group. I approached an employee at Dion Wired, Canal Walk, regarding a price match with a competitor who had the same product for R 750 cheaper. After the employee consulted with the manager, who may I add did not avail him or herself to personally attend to my price match query, the said employee indicated that they are unable to meet the price of the competitor as they advertise. I then further queried what the best offer is which they are able to make and was hit with the dumbest comment, in that they were selling the product "just above cost" and therefore was unable to reduce the price. The employee additionally responded by stating that they would have to contact the buying team to negotiate a price which we can settle on and this would require an email which would take some time to yield a response. I performed thorough research of the product and was well informed of the prices both locally and abroad, even if this (insult to the intellect of all customers of a) comment was even slightly true, the buying team is doing something wrong by buying in a product that high relative to the rest of the market. Clearly if a competitor can sell a product t at 10% cheaper, and still be profitable then there are major issues within the procurement department at Dion Wired. What further upsets me is that the good **** folks at Dion Wired simply respond to experiences such these with an "oh well we will roll out more training" yet nothing effectively gets done to address this issue of false advertising of a price match and the claim to roll out training seems to be further false advertising. Please uphold your advertising to customers or do not make statements you are unable to honour. It's that simple.
