DION WIRED - Feeling cheated - They dont give a ****
Yesterday my Fiancé and I went to Dion Wired in Greenstone Mall to look for a new TV with a budget of R20 000. We approached the sales person and gave him a basic idea of what we were looking for. He showed us a few options, showed us the features of each TV set and based on the features, performance a price with chose a unit. He went to the store room and brought out a unit and we proceeded to the till. We completed the mandatory TV license details and they scanned the barcode and a price of R39 999 came up on the register. Everyone was shocked even the sales person that assisted us. We then went to the section where the TV was a double checked the price label against the part number and barcode number and everything matched. Other than the R19 999 price advertised on the shelf label and what was on the register (R39 999). The sales person then spoke to the sales manager, who in-turn called the head buyer, who called the store manager… and after 2-3 hours of waiting they said that they made an error with the label and that they could not give us the TV at that price. The sales person handled everything nicely but the sales manager and store manageress were very rude and non responsive. Can anyone give me advice on what to do next. I have contacted the SA Consumer Rights Association and my Attorney? Am I over reacting? Do I have rights here? I need to add that we bought everything from Dion Wired a few years ago when we moved into our new house. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO DION WIRED.
