Dion Wired - Extended Warranty
We purchased a 65" Hisense 3D TV with an extended warranty on the opening day. The warranty was fully paid for on the same day. The start date on the warranty was dated 24/08/2017, which was signed off by the head sales executive, who was there to sign off the specials that day. The TV failed last month and we contacted Dion Wired to see if they could get it assessed under the extended warranty. The Dion Wired representatives couldn't believe that we still had the documentation in almost mint condition and when they looked on their system, they found the warranty was actually cancelled. Dion Wired disputes their contractual obligation due to the fact that the TV was bought in 2013 and the warranty start date is 2017. All I can say about this matter is that; people will do anything to sell you something that they think you'll never enforce. Now its off to the ombudsman to see what can be done!

We where contacted by the branch and instructed to bring them the TV. We did so and the technicians sent their response a day or two later saying that the TV had been damaged by surge or lightning and it was in fact the power board that was damaged, the warranty doesn't cover this but they will repair the TV free of charge. I didn't want to argue with the caller because she was only instructed on what to say. I have a Ellies surge safe protection on the TV and was watching the TV when it gave in (I always unplug my equipment during storms, storm warnings and even as I leave for work, I have also separated essential plugs from non essential plugs and added surge protectors). I do understand that I have devices plugged into the TV but all my devices I had plugged in (into the same Ellies surge protector) are still working perfectly. We will follow up with the store this coming week and "Thanks for the quick response!"
Kind regards.

Trust you are well.
Just a follow up, have you received your TV back and in working order?
I look forward to your response.
