Defective ASUS laptop - New but Requires R2000+ Fix!

I bought an ASUS laptop at Dion Wired's Blue Route branch in February 2016. I struggled to connect to the internet but assumed that it was just drivers that needed to be updated. I had bought the laptop for work and didn't need it yet because I hadn't started working yet. I then started work 6 April 2016 and had noticed that the screen colours became fragmented/changed (I don't know how to describe it). It just looked strange and wasn't constant, it was intermittent and happened daily, but I assumed it was because I had been working really long hours. I would then stop working and shut down. I then opened the laptop one morning and discovered a black block in the top left corner of the screen. When I opened the laptop a bit more the black block spread (I have a picture). I then went to the store that morning to return and request a replacement. I understand the frustrations in trying to gather information from customers so I wanted to provide a summary of what had happened. Each time I spoke, before I could complete a sentence or finish my train of thought, the technician kept interrupting me by telling me to be still and calm down. I wasn't angry. I wasn't frantic. He failed to listen to anything that I was saying and kept speaking over me telling me to be quiet and that 'it was bought in February, so'. I asked about the warranty? The technician was rude and dismissive. I requested to speak to a manager who did listen to me but said that it must be sent away. I wanted to know if that means that I'm supposed to pay more money? and was told that we must wait for the assessment which was going to result in me waiting a minimum of 21 days before I could get it back. *So much time lost!!!* The technician acknowledged that the laptop is an old model despite it being a New laptop and that the screen thus could be faulty but they would need to send it away to be fixed. Yesterday I received a call for a quote of R2000+ (I can't remember the exact figure because I was so shocked and haven't received my call-back) and was informed that despite the standard 1 year warranty and the advertised 3 year one that I had registered for separately, they both are useless as the screen is not covered by either. After gasping, I requested to speak to the manager. I have been waiting for a call from the manager but this has still not happened. So I've paid R7500 for a supposedly new laptop and now I'm expected to pay an additional large sum to restore a defective laptop to being 'new'. I can't believe it! I have suffered in many ways with Dion Wired, in treatment, lost time, inconvenience, expected product quality and now further monetary loss in order to fix a laptop that was supposed to be fixed to begin with! Throughout, Dion Wired has failed and still fails to provide a customer focused answer or a customer focused representative (both in store and on the phone) that didn't answer with 'you bought it in February, so'. Paying R9500 for an old model of a laptop that was advertised at R7500. How can this be???!!! IS THIS WHY IT WAS ON SPECIAL??? A gimmick to get people to pay a higher price for defective laptops and so the company rids itself of the stock and avoids discarding the stock by offering a 3 year warranty? Then it is solidified with unhelpful staff so the customer is forced to take the broken unit and fork out the cash?? I can't believe this. Now I'm angry. Now I'm frantic. I need to work.
