Broken JBL Earphones with expired warranty sold?!

I received a gift from Dion Wired Cresta in September 2018. The JBL E25BT was working great for 3 months and one of earphones (left side) stopped working recently. I contacted the online support line and the only response I received was to get a quote for repairs as the product warranty has already expired. This suggests that old JBL stock was sold to me and the product warranty of 1year no longer applies.?!

JBL Service was good to get back to me but they keep referring back to Dion Wired where the service is really poor and puts JBL in a negative light. Needless to say they have lost a client and I will be spreading the word around to other interested buyers.
