2nd hand items sold

I went to Dion Wired in Greenstone mall to purchase a wireless keyboard and mouse on Monday 30 May 2016. As usual I walked in and there is absolutely nobody in site to help. After looking at the Microsoft keyboards and chose one because of being shocked by the price took the cheaper one the Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse 2000. Only once I was walking to the till did a man jump out and tell me “you taking the Microsoft one, it’s got a 2 year warrantee on it “. Knowing he was doing this just to pretend he made the sale I just ignored him and walked to the till. I heard him shout to the teller something. I assume it was to tell her it was his sale. I paid the R800 for the item and proceeded to my client to install it at her house. On arrival I broke the two seals on the box and removed the keyboard, immediately seeing it was 2nd hand as it was filthy on the keys and looked like there was food or something stuck in the keyboard.

Furious and very embarrassed I left my client to return the keyboard.

I walked in the sales man was standing at the door and said “you back so fast”

I then showed him the keyboard and asked to speak to a manager, he then disappeared to the back for ages, and came back to tell me the manager is too busy to come help me.

I then told him not to bother as now I was even more frustrated telling him not to bother giving me a new one and just give me my money back as I would go buy it from another store.

He then took the keyboard to security and came back to tell me the serial number is different on the keyboard to the number on the box. Then after really insisting the manager come out she appeared telling me they would need to take it and do an investigation.

I was then forced to just buy another keyboard and mouse as I was not going to go back to my customer and try explain the events that had followed.

Later that day someone else called me, not really knowing how to speak told me they called Microsoft and they said its fine they can refund me. I then told her that is not good enough I would like to know the outcome of their investigation. Then not knowing what to say she put me through to the important manager to explain to me.

She told me they don’t know what happened, but I may come back and receive a refund. As I need to fill out a form.

I then on Tuesday 31 May 2016 returned to sign the slip for my refund still getting a very poor explanation from the store manager only to find out the refund will take up to 7 working days.

I am extremely disappointed in the service and manner in that this was handled.

And feel like the management only care about their own time. And think they are far too important to deal with small time clients as myself.
