******* from TV / Multichoice installer

Digital Satellite Installation (Mathew Mkanda), was called to my holiday apartment in Sea Point Cape Town, as there was a problem with my TV. He and his colleague informed me that I needed a new optic switch, and they recommended that I should update my DSTV decoder. They proceeded to install a new Multichoice 5.3 multiswitch splitter at a cost of R2, 300, as well as a new Explora 3B decoder at a cost of R2, 500. I subsequently googled the cost of those two items and found that they were available from various suppliers for 3 times less than what I had been charged. And I was also charged R450 for "callout" and R850 for "installation"! When I sent a message to ask why I has been so grossly overcharged I was told that "it was their rate and that no refund was due to me". So be warned. I suspect that he operates under different names, so also look out for cell number *** when looking for a DSTV TV installer / repair company and choose a more ethical outfit.
