WHOZA ***** debit orders through Digicash
What a problem. I noticed this morning the Digicash has processed a debit order on behalf of WHOZA Enterprises for R99. I called Digicash this morning and got the telephone number of this WHOZA Enterprises.. Surprise, their number does not work. Where did they get me bank account number from? Why has Digicash not done verification of this company? I have no affiliation to WHOZA in anyway, shape or form. I have now logged this with the ***** division of my bank. This should not be allowed at all! Time for transformation of the debit order system in RSA! Poor on Digicash for not verifying details before processing!

Please note that Digicash is a duly registered Third Party Payment Provider (TPPP) who facilitates debit order collections on behalf of various merchants.
The process is as follows:
o A consumer enters into an agreement with one of our merchants
o That merchant utilises DigiCash's software to collect funds from the consumer's account
o Digicash registers a unique assigned short name (ASN) with its sponsoring bank which the merchant must use when submitting debit orders
o The ASN, a reference number and Digicash's name will appear in your bank statement. This will help us to identify the merchant responsible for debiting your account
We would ask that you please contact us on *** with further details of the transaction. We will then be able to put you in direct contact with the company who asked us to collect these funds from you, and this can then be resolved.
