What on earth??

I received a debit order from MSM DBN Digicash for R299 this morning, firstly what the hell is this company and why are they even in existence. I then went on to investigate further and saw that they perform debit orders on behalf of their 'clients' on unsuspecting customers... Is this even legal, is there not something in the consumer protection act that prevents this from even happening. I have a couple of ears so I will thoroughly investigate this and add the results on my blog for anyone who has been debited without their consent.

If I were to take money from a random person on the street and say its okay your third cousin Nelson said it was okay for me to take your money, leaving you destitute unable to go home or feed your family, would that make it right??? Some people start businesses to inconvenience you in the worst way possible so that they can make a quick buck..

This is surely another uppercut to South Africans and another indicator that businesses couldn't give a flying F*** about their consumers...
Hello Addync,

We appreciate you informing us about this matter and we'll aim to resolve your problem as quickly as possible.

We would like to inform you that Digicash is a debit order facilitator who facilitates the collections of our merchants' fees, from their clients.

The process is as follows:

1. A client enters into an agreement with one of our merchants
2. That merchant contracts DigiCash to collect their fees from the client's account
3. DigiCash's name (instead of the company with whom the client contracted with) appears on the bank statement, as mandated by the Reserve Bank.

One of our consultants will contact you shortly and we will then be able to put you in direct contact with the company who asked us to collect these funds from you, and this can then be resolved

Kind regards,
The Digicash Team

Best regards,
