Unauthorised Debit - You have a responsibility
Firstly, I know your response is going to be the standard ******* copy and paste answer that you are just facilitating payments for other companies. You as a company still have a responsibility to ensure that you are following the legal and ethical procedures when debiting accounts. What kind of checks and audits are you doing to ensure that you are debiting the correct accounts? You are just as bad as Primax Communication and the fact that you don't question why so many people are complaining is paramount to *****. You should be ashamed of yourselves. This Primax is already giving me the run around - wrong phone numbers, non existant numbers. Ask yourselves if you really feel ethical doing what you are doing.
It's perfectly understandable why you would feel this way. Regardless of how it seems to you we do actually follow all the requirements as stipulated by PASA and banking legislation, in fact more than many of our competitors.
The problem that we have with these complaints is a complex one, and is not made easier by the fact that many of the systemic issues we're up against are endemic to South Africa. The root cause here are legislative issues and our hands are largely tied in a lot of ways.
Where they are not tied however is when we find a merchant who is unable or unwilling to field complaints from their clients. Depending on the situation these merchants are met with heavy fines for failure to comply and, if their behaviour is deemed ********* they are exited as a client and black-listed all the way up to PASA.
We realise a lot of this will make very little difference to you, but we would encourage you to work with us and not against us. If you mention Primax is giving you a run around, please involve us in the communication (you can cc ***). At the least our involvement will speed up the matter between you and Primax.
