Ridiculous unauthorized debit order!!!
I noticed that I had a debit order for R99.00 going off my bank account on 30 Jan 2015. I then realized that this has been coming off my account since November 2014.
I went to the bank to have it reversed, they only reversed 1 month as they can't reverse debit orders more than 30 days ago.
I got the contact nr for this company, I called them & they can't tell me what the debit order is for. They have got various departments & they have to investigate, they will get back to me in 72 hours. I requested to speak to a manger or someone in a higher position, I was denied this.
I find this ridiculous that they can't tell me what the debit is for & let alone the person that I spoke to also doesn't know what her company does.... How can you not know the operations of the company you are working for??
I see that I am not the only one battling with this problem of unauthorized debit orders. This is also not the only debit order I have in question. There is another 1 going off my account for R99.99, weird enough they started at the same time but from a different company. Where can I receive proof that I acknowledge to these debit orders as well as give permission for my account to be debited?
We appreciate your frustration in this matter.
We would firstly like to explain that Digicash only facilitates collections for our merchants.
Our most typical complaint is as follows:
1. You enter into an agreement with one of our merchants,
2. That merchant contracts Digicash to collect their fee's from your account,
3. Digicash's name, instead of the company with whom you contracted with, appears on your bank statement, as mandated by the South African Reserve Bank.
We can put pressure on our merchant to provide you with proof of being allowed to debit from your account. Should they be unable to provide proof we will impose a fine on them and exit them as a client if necessary. In order to cooperate with us, please email the transaction you're querying to *** along with contact details and we'll assist.
