******* UNAUTHORISED DEBIT ORDER
I was debited for an amount of R99 this morning (Ref Digicash/1WNNY NL DBN). My bank gave me the number to call - ***. I went from being caller no 20 to being cut off as I got to the front of the queue after a very very long wait!
How did DIGICASH verify that this was a legal instruction as I have not ordered anything nor gone into any debit order agreement with anyone???
I will be reporting this to PASA (Payment Association of South Africa)
That company could face being stopped from ever performing debit orders again by PASA as they have acted *******ly!!! Further I need DIGICASH to contact me urgently as one cannot get to speak to an operator on the number given!!! I need to know on whose behalf you have taken money out of my account!
DIGICASH & that company will have to answer to PASA as the banks do nothing to protect our money!!!
We understand your frustration in this regard and we'll aim to resolve your problem as quickly as possible.
First it's important to understand that DigiCash only facilitates collections for our merchants.
Our most typical complaint is as follows:
1. You enter into an agreement with one of our merchants,
2. That merchant contracts DigiCash to collect their fee's from your account,
3. DigiCash's name (instead of the company with whom you contracted with) appears on your bank statement, as mandated by the Reserve Bank.
One of our consultants will contact you shortly to get further details of the transaction. We will then be able to put you in direct contact with the company who asked us to collect these funds from you, and this can then be resolved.

The Digicash Team
