Dieselfix; Use with caution!

Considerable damage to modern engines, specifically cylinder lining scuffing, due to injector failure has been reported when using this product for long periods. I have subsequently reviewed the product and found the following. The SABS 342 certificate on the Dieselfix website is an obsolete diesel specification that only compares viscosity etc. to a baseline diesel standard (of nearly 30 years ago). It has nothing to do with fuel additives nor does it indicate that a product is safe to use in modern engines. The website claim that the product changes the molecular structure of water is false. Such a chemical reaction is exothermic and no heat is generated when Dieselfix is added to water or diesel. The most concerning is the comparison of diesel filters that use the product (diesel treated with the product are much cleaner); this means that contaminants don’t coagulate (like they should with modern diesel additives) and remain in the diesel damaging injectors and finally the engine. Use with caution!
