Horrible experience

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted by the treatment my 2 year old child received at Diepsloot South Clinic Ext 2. At around 3:00 am I took my son to the clinic because he was sick and clearly in distress. Like any sick toddler, he was crying. Instead of showing compassion or attempting to assess him, an Indian male staff member (I'm not sure whether he was a doctor or a nurse) refused to assist my child because he was crying. He actually told me that he would not help my child because he was crying. How does that make any sense? My child was sick that is exactly why we came to the clinic. Expecting a sick 2year old to remain calm is completely unrealistic. To make matters worse, he shouted at me, claiming my child had been crying for an hour, when we had not even been there for 30 minutes. I was shocked by his attitude, lack of professionalism, and complete absence of empathy. The clinic only allows one person inside with the patient. He asked me to fetch my father, who is my child's grandfather, because my son was crying for him. When my father went inside, he was simply handed a syringe (attached) and told to bring my child back at 7:00 p.m. when he was "not crying." So let me understand this correctly a sick 2 year old can only receive medical attention if he is not crying? That is one of the most unreasonable and inhumane things I have ever heard. Healthcare professionals choose a career that involves caring for people, especially vulnerable patients like young children. Instead, my family was met with shouting, dismissal, and a refusal to provide care. No parent should ever be made to feel helpless while seeking urgent medical attention for their sick child. I sincerely hope management investigates this incident and ensures that no other child or parent is treated this way. Every child deserves compassionate medical care, regardless of whether they are crying.
