Worst client service ever

My daughter planned to visit SA for the first time in 20 years. As we both loved the Smokkelkoppe shoe designs, the first stop we made after her early April arrival in Cape Town was the Smokkelkoppe shop in Somerset West. The shop assistant did not have the design we wanted in our sizes, but was expecting a delivery the following week, when it would be made available on their website. As we live 400km from Cape Town and planned to travel a lot during my daughter's visit, we would not be home to receive a couriered parcel. So I arranged with her that I would order and pay online, and they would keep the shoes for me to pick up at their shop at the end of April on our way back to the airport. She was very accommodating and advised me to put a reminder about our arrangement in the online order's message box. Which I did when I ordered and paid for 2 pairs of boots the next week. I called a few days before the pickup date to confirm, and from then on everything went downhill. Excuses, excuses. They did not have the boots ready for me. They were waiting for a delivery. She would call me back (which never happened). She would contact the owner, who would contact the supplier. Thereafter neither my calls, nor my voice messages or emails were answered. Even my WhatsApp, which Leandi advised me I should use for a rapid response, remained unread. What should have been the cherry on the cake of my daughter's month-long visit, became a stressful disappointment. She is leaving tomorrow - without the boots. I trusted these people because a previous online, couriered order went without a hitch. But never again. Don't believe what they say about themselves aiming for happy customers. I am unhappy and bitterly disappointed. Smokkelkoppe's owners and employees obviously do not know the meaning of client service, and apparently neither do they not know how to conduct business. I doubt they have ever heard the phrase "The client is king". What they DO know, is how to make empty promises and take your money. Smokkelkoppe equals BAD BUSINESS and even worse client service. My advice: Stay away from this business, however cute their shoes may look.
